Focus: Minor Stop Management Component

A minor stop by Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) standards is any stop ten minutes or less. In most organizations, these are the top contributors to downtime but are “hidden” from the organization. Minor stop management is the method in which to manage the losses associated with minor stops, what the action items are to eliminate, and the strategy to sustain the gains. There are normally three buckets that minor stop management is divided into: Clean, Inspect, and Lube; Defect Elimination; Redesign.
